Job description

The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a newly created Senior Health and Safety Business Partner to join this local business. The role will be responsible for providing outstanding health and safety services throughout the organisation and driving improvements to safety systems and culture. The successful candidate will be part of an organisation who is invested in health and safety at the highest level.

You should be a friendly and confident individual, who can work effectively and autonomously and as part of a team. Ability to exhibit strong leadership and coaching skills as you will develop and mentor the H&S Coordinator. Strong communication skills, with excellent analytical, report writing and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the establishment and monitoring of annual strategic health and safety priorities.
  • Continuing to develop and maintain the health and safety management framework.
  • Establishing and leading a substantial risk assessment consolidation project.
  • Leading on RIDDOR notifications (as appropriate) and complex accident investigations.
  • Planning, preparing and undertaking a range of inspections and audits.
  • Providing a range of advice, support, education and training to address health and safety challenges.
  • Enhancing and effectively monitoring appropriate leading and lagging performance metrics.


Requirements:

  • As minimum, a recognised Level 3 Health & Safety qualification.
  • Previous, similar demonstrable work experience, preferably operating at a manager or equivalent level of seniority in a similar role.
  • Applicants must have good working knowledge of legislation which governs construction, care and compliance activities.
  • Ideally possess experience from within the property/construction industry (or in an industry in which there are clear and directly transferrable skills).
  • Applicants must have a basic understanding of occupational health surveillance requirements.


Annual salary up to £49,000

Based in Kidderminster.

Monday to Friday 37.5 hours.

Potential for flexible and hybrid working.
